What the 20 questions cover

This is the sampler page. Instead of drilling one topic, the quiz pulls a mixed set of 20 questions from across the site: notes on drawn staves, the instruments of the orchestra, Italian performance terms, and composer trivia. If you are not sure which corner needs work before committing to a focused quiz, a mixed set will tell you quickly.

Two things are absent on purpose. There is no ear training, because ear training deserves real audio and a silent page would only fake it. And there is no song-or-artist trivia, because charts churn and those questions go stale within a season. What remains is the material that stays true year after year.

Where the material comes from

The notation questions use staves that are drawn, not photographed. Lines, notes, and signatures are rendered from pure geometry, and every drawn position was decoded and verified against theory by an independent review before a single question was generated: 59 items, zero disputes. Clefs are named in the question text rather than drawn, so you always know which staff you are reading. The trivia — composers, orchestral families, Italian terms — was written twice by independent authors and compared value by value, and all 68 keys agreed.

How the quiz runs

Every question offers four options. Pick one and the page marks it right or wrong on the spot, with the correct answer shown, so a miss teaches you something while the question is still in front of you. When all 20 are done you get a full review of the set, and your best score is saved in your browser for the next attempt. No signup, no account — the whole music trivia quiz runs in the page.
